L.I.F.E. Center - Supporting our Students

At the L.I.F.E. Center, we support an alternative to tradtitional classrooms.  L.I.F.E. stands for Learning Is For Everyone.

Students at the L.I.F.E. Center share one goal – earning a high school diploma. Everything is focused on that one goal.

At the L.I.F.E. Center, our staff believes there are many ways for students to achieve the ultimate goal of graduating from high school and not all fit within the setting of a traditional high school environment. We are passionate about working with students and helping them find ways to be successful and earn their high school diploma. As a staff, our number one priority is our student's personal and educational success.  We give our students tools and opportunities they need to succeed, and do everything possible to encourage and support them; however we require students to do their part too. We expect students to be willing to take control of their educational path and be a full participant in doing what it takes to reach the goal of earning their high school diploma. The L.I.F.E. Center removes many of the distractions that can exist in a traditional high school.

L.I.F.E. Center students participate in an online curriculum, are in a smaller environment, have a non-traditional atmosphere, and a modified schedule. However, it is important to remember that it is still school and students have the same expectations as all Mt. Vernon students. All school policies and handbook expectations apply at the L.I.F.E. Center.

The L.I.F.E. Center also has a day reporting room that administrators can assign suspended students in grades 6th-12th.
