• Full-time School Resource Officer on site
• All staff are trained in Trauma-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)
• Recognized as an ASCA (American School Counselor Association) Model Program
• 9-time recipient of the Indiana Department of Education Four-Star School Distinction
• Project Lead the Way (PLTW) School with a STEM focus (Courses include: Design and Modeling, Flight and Space, Medical Detectives, Robotics)
• Over 10,300 books across several genres are available in the media center
• 2024-2025 attendance rate was 95.04% and is regularly above 94%
• National Junior Honor Society inductees exemplify Scholarship, Service, Leadership, Citizenship, and Character
• All students have 1:1 Chromebooks  
• DARE middle school curriculum is presented to 8th graders during wellness
• Learners supported by highly qualified individuals in the areas of Multilingual Learners (ML), Speech and Language, Special Education, and High Ability
• Opportunities to earn high school credit while in 8th grade
• 20 clubs are available, including extracurricular opportunities and competitive teams in Robotics and Esports
• Seven years (and counting!) as a designated Unified Champion Middle School, as celebrated by the Special Olympics & Indiana High School Athletic Association
• Academic Superbowl Teams compete across all core content areas: Social Studies, Math, Science, ELA, Spell Bowl, Academic Superbowl, Annual MV Geography Bee and Spelling Bee
• Esports inaugural teams placed first and second in the middle school Rocket League tournament
• 28 athletic teams win multiple county and conference titles each season 
• Over 600 students (more than 50% of the student body) participate in athletics every year. 
• $10 million renovation in 2018 included a Fieldhouse with 2 full courts, 8 goals, and spectator seating
• Two Gymnasiums, Baseball Field, Softball Field, Football Field, and Swimming Pool that serve MVMS and MVHS
• Performing arts area was renovated in 2022, including state-of-the-art band and choir facilities and an expanded cafeteria
• ISSMA Band All Music Award 2025, Group 1 Solo Gold, Jazz Band Gold, and Concert Band Gold
• 7th and 8th grade choir received Gold with Distinction ratings at ISSMA in 2024 and 2025
• Art students participate in a county-wide art show, have their artwork published, and integrate writing standards to support the display of their artwork
