Boost Summer Learning with IXL ✨

+ A Fun DIY Ice Cream Activity to Cool Things Off! 🍦

Summer is a great time to relax—but it’s also the perfect chance to keep young minds active and ready for the next school year. That’s where IXL comes in!

IXL is a powerful, personalized online learning platform that helps students master essential skills in math, language arts, science, social studies, and more—all at their own pace. With interactive questions, immediate feedback, and detailed explanations, students can strengthen what they already know and tackle new challenges with confidence.

🧠 Here’s what makes IXL so valuable for students over the summer:
  • Personalized Learning Paths: IXL adapts in real time, guiding students through topics based on their strengths and areas for growth.

  • Skill Building: Whether students are catching up or getting ahead, IXL offers targeted practice that supports long-term mastery.

  • Motivating Milestones: Students earn awards and certificates as they progress, making learning fun and rewarding.

  • Progress Monitoring: Parents and caregivers can track performance, see improvement over time, and identify areas that need extra attention.

  • Flexible & Convenient: IXL is available 24/7, making it easy to fit learning into even the busiest summer schedule.
Have a great week!

Focus on….Math and ELA

Connect the Dots to Math and Writing

  • Math Component: Calculate the ratio of ingredients needed based on the number of people you want to serve. For example, if the original recipe is for 2 servings, how much should you use for 4 or 6? You can also measure the temperature of the ice and how it changes during the shaking process.

  • Writing Component: Write a reflection about your ice cream-making process. Did it turn out the way you expected? How did the texture and flavor compare to store-bought ice cream?

Motivational Incentive

Submit an action shot of your experience making ice cream in a bag here for a chance to win an ice cream party for your class next school year!

MV Reads: News from the Library

Realistic fiction novels meet students where they are in their own lives. They help students feel less alone and left out. They can see their own situations through the story and find a sense of connection. Relieving them of the feeling that they are the only one with struggles. Some great realistic fiction options are listed below. Please note these books are for 6th -8th graders, please always preview to make sure they are right for your child.
