Hello MVMS Families,
I wanted to offer specific information regarding Virtual Learning for MVMS.
What? After the third eLearning day, MVCSC must provide Virtual Learning where students attend live, scheduled classes online.
Why? Indiana Code allows schools to have three eLearning days per school year. As of January 22, MVCSC has used two of the three eLearning days. If we do not participate in Virtual Learning, we would have to add the missed days at the end of the school year.
When? MVCSC has used two of the three allowable eLearning days. On the next weather cancellation day (day 3), we will continue eLearning - assignments will be posted and students will complete those assignments during the day of the cancellation.
Should a fourth day of cancellation be necessary due to inclement weather, students will participate in Virtual Learning - where they attend live, online classes at scheduled times.
How? MVMS students will follow a different schedule than the typical day. Students will attend class using their school-issued Chromebook or any internet-connected device to receive instruction and any related assignments for the day. Links for students to attend their class’s Google Meet will be provided by the classroom teacher. Special education teachers will continue to provide student services.
See below for additional details. Stay safe and warm this weekend.
Have a great week!
Dr. Lori Katz, MVMS Principal
