MVMS

February 8, 2026

Hello MVMS Families,

At November’s PTO meeting, Seth Hamilton, MVCSC Director of Technology (and MVMS parent!), presented guidance on how to parent in a social media age. He covered multiple ways that parents can monitor their child’s technology usage in order to provide “training wheels” for them to navigate their digital world. Visit our district online safety page (MVCSC Online Safety) to learn more about Qustodio (a free resource provided by MV), how to leverage built-in phone controls, and tools to manage the parameters of your child’s cell phone.
As you reflect on your child’s digital footprint and online safety, you might also explore these additional online resources:
Please reach out to your child’s counselor with questions or concerns around internet safety.

Erin Brown, Class of 2030 (erin.brown@mvcsc.k12.in.us)

Have a great week!
Dr. Lori Katz, MVMS Principal

Catfishing Awareness
We want to remind families to talk with students about online safety, especially catfishing—when someone pretends to be someone else online. This can happen on Social Media Platforms or Gaming Platforms. Encourage your child to be cautious about who they interact with, avoid sharing personal information, and let a trusted adult know if something online feels confusing or uncomfortable. Open conversations at home help keep students safe and confident online.

Important School Reminders

From the School Nurse

We are running very low on spare clothes in the nurse's office. If anyone has any gently used pants/ leggings/ shorts for women or men to donate we would greatly appreciate it! It is always a good idea to pack an extra set in your child's backpack as well because we don't have much to give out!
Thank you,
Angela and Katie, MVMS nurses
