Welcome Back, MVMS Families!

I trust you have had a restful break and are excited to embark on another fantastic school year! As we open this next chapter, I am truly grateful for our vibrant school community and eager for the opportunities that await us.

Our commitment remains steadfast: fostering growth that truly matters—academically, socially, and emotionally. We will continue to be led by our core values of connection, challenge, and care. I am incredibly proud of our collective achievements and feel confident about the positive momentum we are carrying forward.

To our new families, a very warm welcome—we appreciate you choosing MVMS. You are becoming part of a community that is dedicated to the potential of young adolescents and believes in the strength of the home-school partnership. We are thrilled to have you with us.

Let’s look forward to a wonderful year of discovery, belonging, and ongoing development!

Orientation Tasks

  • Start in the MAIN GYM to pick up your CLASS SCHEDULE / SCHOOL MAP. If you have this information from Skyward, you do not need to visit the gym.
  • Visit your LOCKER and find your CLASSES
  • Visit the NURSE to
  1. Drop off medication forms and medication
  2. Speak to nurse about health concerns
  3. Complete a Self-carry form
Class Schedule

  • Class schedules will be available on the evening of August 3rd in Skyward.
  • Copies of your class schedule will be available in the gym during back to school night. If you want to skip the line, access and/or print your schedule from Skyward prior to coming to Back to School night.
  • All students should have six classes and a Success period per semester
  • Due to restrictions within the master schedule, course changes are not possible.
  • Counselors will be onsite to assist with missing classes. They are unable to change any elective classes.
**Schedules are subject to change. **

During the first few weeks of school, we often enroll new students and process withdrawals, which may require adjustments to student schedules. While we recognize that these changes can be frustrating, they are sometimes necessary to maintain balanced class sizes and provide the best possible learning environment for all students. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process.

Lockers

  • All student lockers are randomly assigned by team. If your locker doesn’t open after several attempts, please visit the front office for custodial help.
  • Bring your school supplies to drop off in your locker.

2026-2027 School Supply Lists

A Quick Back-to-School Family Challenge!

One of the best ways to help your child become more confident and independent is to make sure they know a few important pieces of information about themselves.
Before school starts, take a few minutes to practice these together. Ask your child if they can tell you:

  • Their home address
  • The name of their neighborhood or subdivision (if applicable)
  • The closest cross streets or major intersection near your home
  • A parent or guardian's phone number (and, if possible, another trusted emergency contact)
  • Their bus number and where they get on and off the bus
You might be surprised how many middle school students aren't sure of this information! It can be incredibly helpful if a student accidentally misses their bus, can't remember their bus number, or needs assistance during an unexpected situation.
A few minutes of practice now can make a big difference later. Thank you for helping your child build these important life skills and for partnering with us to keep all of our Marauders safe and prepared.

Wellness Uniform

Students are expected to change into a wellness uniform for PE to support a more active, focused, and respectful learning environment. The uniform is designed to ensure all students are dressed appropriately for movement, promoting safety, comfort, and full participation in physical activities. Having a consistent PE uniform also helps reduce distractions, supports personal hygiene, and encourages a sense of routine and responsibility. Most importantly, it reflects our commitment to student wellness by helping every student feel prepared and confident during class. Please see the information below for specifics.

CONSUMABLE CURRICULAR FEES

At the May 2026 meeting, the MVCSC Board of Trustees approved consumable curricular fees for the 2026-2027 school year. These fees are based on each student’s course schedule and are not textbook rental fees.

Consumable fees cover materials students use during coursework, such as clay, paint, sheet music, science lab supplies, PLTW project materials, and other hands-on classroom resources, but do not include textbooks. These materials are used directly by students and cannot be reused from year to year.

The complete list of fees will be posted under the “Parents” tab on each school's website. 2026-2027 Consumable Fees

PTO

We Need You! Help Us Rebuild Our PTO

Our PTO has always played a vital role in shaping the MVMS experience for both students and staff—and now, we need your help to rebuild and reenergize this important group.

From teacher appreciation events to student celebrations and field trips, many of the things our kids look forward to most wouldn’t be possible without a strong PTO. When families get involved, the impact is felt throughout the entire school community.

Whether you’re a planner, a helper, or just someone who cares deeply about making MVMS the best it can be—we’d love for you to join us. Every contribution makes a difference!
If you're interested in learning more or getting involved, please reach out to mtvernonmiddleschoolpto@gmail.com.
