Parents,
As we wrap up an incredible first two days of school, I want to thank all of our families for helping make it such a positive start to the year. Our Back to School Night was a tremendous success, and it was wonderful to see so many students and parents filling the halls, meeting teachers, and beginning new connections.
The first few days of middle school are always filled with a mix of excitement and nerves—for students, parents, and even teachers! We've seen students learning new routines, navigating busy hallways, finding classrooms, opening lockers (sometimes on the first try, sometimes after a little extra practice!), and beginning to build friendships and relationships with their teachers. Every smile, question, and small success helps students grow more confident with each passing day.
Thank you for partnering with us as we help students settle into the school year. We're off to a fantastic start, and we look forward to all the learning, growth, and memorable experiences that lie ahead.
Have a great week!
Dr. Lori Katz, MVMS Principal

During the first few weeks of school, we often enroll new students and process withdrawals, which may require adjustments to student schedules. While we recognize that these changes can be frustrating, they are sometimes necessary to maintain balanced class sizes and provide the best possible learning environment for all students. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this process.

- When students enter the building, all cell phones, smart watches, smart glasses etc should be off and put in their backpacks. This includes ear buds and headphones.
- Students are able to carry a pencil pouch with them to all classes. Backpacks, purses, and crossbody bags will be stored in their lockers. They may take a drawstring-style bag to and from their wellness class.
- All students will have 10 passes to use each quarter. Students may use the restroom during passing periods and during the first 20 minutes of lunch. Any restroom needs outside of passing periods will require a signed pass from their student planner.
|
All students will receive a school planner on Monday. Teachers will distribute these during 3rd period. Teachers will review homework due dates with students, and students will copy all homework assignments into their planner.

Welcome back to school from the MVMS library. Your student will have the opportunity for library time each week. Library day will depend on their language arts teacher, so ask your student which day they go to the library to help keep track of their books. Remember lost or damaged book fines do carry over from school to school. You may pay any fines through E-funds or directly to any librarian in the district.
Happy Reading!!

This is Our school life value terms help guide positive choices each day: Redo, Be Kind, Focus on Your Task, and With Respect.
August we will focus on the term Redo. Students will have social emotional lessons each Wednesday during Success directed towards that term.
